The J2ME application (incase we go ahead with it ) is not goiing to be that difficult, rather it will be just a front end to the j2ee application. Something like a Swing application accessing an J2ee Application, though J2me doest have all the API for directly calling EJBs or making RMI calls to the server, it can make simple HTTP GET and POST probally sending and receiving XML messages.
I do agree with you that we need a deeper understanding of all the featuers that google provides us.
I know this is not the best time of the year to go into project development, since I am going to bomaby for holidays on the 21st though I should be able to work from home ( I think )
Are we only going to stick to Google or do you think that we should also look at other sites that provide webservices ?
I am going to setup a couple of other users on this blog as admin, since someone else can do admin tasks if case I am not able to access the internet for a while.

So any new ideas...
Coming to my ideas I think we all shud first take a deep glance at the google API and try to know its limits and then probably we can discuss about the projects.

That is really cool, though I would like to keep it as a blog rather than going in for yahoo group.
Mmmm I dont know why ???!!!
Now the only thing left is what are we making ?
Any ideas ?
I am not sure about the details of all services provided by google, but here is what I had in mind.
1. J2me application has gets the latest weather report for the particualr location (configurable)
2. Similar application that gets the Traffic Status.
3. Map Search application.
